Selling

No matter what your reason, selling a home can be a difficult decision. My goal is to sell your home in the shortest amount of time and for the highest price possible. To reach that goal, I've compiled some useful home selling steps. Buyers today want homes that are move-in ready! If you have additional questions, please contact me.

Check out your competition

Visit homes similar to your home type, size and neighborhood and price range. How does the competition compare? Do they have more curb appeal? Are they less cluttered? Are they more or less updated than your home? Do they have newer windows, siding or appliances?

Think like the buyer

Look at your home through the eyes of a buyer – the same way you will look at any home you may purchase.

Clear the Clutter

Get rid of clutter in all areas of your home – attic, bath vanities, closets, drawers, kitchen cabinets, and garage. Make closets appear larger by removing items. If necessary, rent a storage space for those seasonal or sentimental valued items that you cannot part with.

Clean

After clearing the clutter, now comes the cleaning! Don't forget the exterior of your home.

Repair

Little repairs can make a big difference. Loose knobs, sticking doors and windows, warped cabinet drawers, bathroom and kitchen tile grout, screens, scratches on the walls, and leaky faucets are necessary to fix if you want to attract buyers.

Paint

A fresh coat of neutral color can brighten or update a room easily and without a lot of expense. Give the front door or exterior shutters a look over if needed as well.

Show and sell

Now, you've compared, cleared, cleaned, shined, and repaired…bring on those buyers!

Let the sun shine in

Open draperies, curtains, blinds so potential buyers can see how cheerful your home can be. Turn on all lights to make the home buyer feel glowing warmth. Some people may have pet allergies so make sure your home is free of "pet odor” and that they are not in the house during an open house or showing.
